MJ Daniels killed in shooting.

The senior cornerback for the Golden Eagles recorded 28 tackles and three interceptions for Southern Miss last season.

He had a season high five tackles during a game against Mississippi State in November. Prior to playing for Southern Miss, McDaniels spent two years at Ole Miss.

He appeared in 16 games for the Rebels.

Daniels was a four-star recruit coming out of high school, and a top 200 player in 247Sports rankings for the 2021 class. He chose Ole Miss over Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Indiana and several other P5 programs. This is a developing situation.
