Lewis Hamilton Wins Record 9th British Grand Prix Title, First Win Since 2021

For once, we can write about someone other than Max Verstappen winning an F1 race, and it’s all thanks to Lewis Hamilton.

Earlier Sunday, 20 drivers competed in the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, England. Verstappen was one of those drivers, so you would think that a guy of his pedigree could take home this trophy with his eyes closed.

But Hamilton had other ideas.

Despite a late push from Verstappen, Wallace held on to win with a time of 1:22:27.059 and his record-breaking ninth victory at this race. Furthermore, it was his final race with his current team, and winning it for them made him emotional in a post-game interview.

Fans reacted on social media to his first major win since 2021.

Hamilton will be driving for Ferrari next year in a move that shocked the sport. While his 11-year tenure with Mercedes is now over, it ended in the best way possible.
