16-Year-Old Scores Incredible Goal For Spain In Semifinal Against France

For the "soccer is boring" crowd, definitely don't show the first half of Spain against France in the Euro Championship semifinal as an example!

France scored an early goal thanks to a fantastic assist from French star Kylian Mbappé. Mbappé made a perfect cross right to the head of Kolo Muani, who sent the ball to the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

That goal was sweet, but nowhere near the quality of the goal scored by the 16-year-old phenom for Spain. That's right, a 16-year-old kid – Lamine Yamal – scored a crucial goal in the Euro semifinal against France.

And it was a BANGER of goal.

I don't know what you were up to when you were 16, but I can tell you that I wasn't doing anything nearly as impressive as that. I was barely starting on my varsity baseball team. And I mean BARELY.

But this kid is out here scoring goals against some of the best soccer players in the world. Really impressive stuff.

Spain wasn't done, either. Despite falling down 1-0, the Spanish entered the halftime break with a lead thanks to another score shortly after the Yamal goal.

It was quite a first half and really showcased how great soccer can be when there's excitement to be had. Of course, that isn't always the case.

But that was certainly the case in this one. And many American soccer fans have been tuning in to both the Euro Championships and Copa América.

Both tournaments have drawn millions of viewers on Fox, which is a great sign for the future of the sport in the United States, especially with the World Cup in 2026, which will be largely hosted inside the US.
