Clippers’ Ivica Zubac Has Los Angeles Home Burglarized
LA Clippers center Ivica Zubac had his home burglarized Wednesday. It was the second time Zubac’s home had been robbed in Los Angeles.
Ivica Zubac has been in the league since 2016, playing for the Lakers and Clippers.
According to a police report relayed by TMZ, three men were spotted at Zubac’s home Wednesday around 7 p.m. (PST). The 27-year-old player was not at home when the men entered, highlighting the vulnerability of professional athletes even in their own homes. No details about how much the vandals stole from the player’s home have been released. The police report noted that no arrests have been made and that authorities remain on the lookout for suspects.
The incident in 2021 at Zubac’s home resulted in a $20,000 Rolex being stolen.
The incident rings true for many Los Angeles residents. Its effects go beyond material value, impacting citizens' sense of security with rampant crime and lax punishments.
LA featured Zubac in its starting lineup against the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs. Dallas eliminated the Clippers in six games.
Zubac averaged 11.7 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks during the regular season.
In recent years, LA athletes have been targeted by vandals who target lavish areas of the crime-ridden county. In 2023, several Los Angeles Dodgers players had their homes burglarized or had their vehicles broken into.
Fellow NBAer Draymond Green had his home robbed for $1 million during his visit to SoFi Stadium for the Super Bowl in 2022.
