Kyle Larson Is Not A Swiftie, Even Though He Just Got Back From A Trip To Paris To See Taylor Swift
NASCAR driver Kyle Larson found himself having to fend off startling rumors this weekend ahead of the Goodyear 400 at Darlington with allegations flying around that he is a hardcore Swiftie.
Fine, it's not that serious, but he did have to answer whether he was a fan of Taylor Swift, given he had just gotten back from a quick trip across the pond to see her perform a show across the pond in Paris.
That trip was for his 6-year-old daughter's birthday, and while Larson was spotted with a Swift shirt and friendship bracelets, that had more to do with him being a cool dad and less to do with his own musical tastes.
"I don’t feel like I’m a Swiftie at all," Larson said, per the Associated Press. "I do appreciate her music and how hard she works, but I’m not a Swiftie."
Hmm… I don't know. That sounds like someone trying to hide the fact that they were pretty pumped when she released a surprise double album.
Still, a trip to Paris is a pretty cool way to celebrate your kid's birthday and one of the wildest NASCAR victories in recent memory. That happened last weekend at Kansashttps://www.outkick.com/sports/nascar-fans-out-for-blood-after-stunning-finish-team-stripped-of-win-during-interview-hooters-beach-day when Larson crossed the stripe 0.001 seconds ahead of Chris Buescher.
That's a lot to travel between race weekends, but maybe that'll just help Larson get used to the rough travel schedule he's going to have this month.
He'll attempt to be the first driver since Kurt Busch in 2014 to pull double duty and race in the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. Leading up to that though, he'll have to spend a good bit of time traveling to Cup Series races while also spending some time at Indy for practice sessions and qualifying. Not to mention that one grueling day in the cockpit at the end of the month.
That doesn't make a mid-week trip to Paris for a Taylor Swift concert sound so bad, does it?
Larson will try to make it two straight wins on Sunday at Darlington, where he's running a glorious paint scheme that pays homage to Terry Labonte's old Corn Flakes scheme from his days behind the wheel of the No. 5.
