Knicks' Josh Hart Wanted To Beat The Magic Because He REALLY Didn't Want To Be Included In A Cow Tik Tok
New York Knicks guard Josh Hart had some extra motivation to beat the Orlando Magic last night, but it wasn’t because of bad blood between the teams.
Hart and his teammates traveled to Florida looking to gain ground on the teams above them in the Eastern Conference. One of those teams just happened to be the Magic, who had a half-game lead on them for fourth place in the East.
That’s a lot of solid reasons to want to beat an opponent, which the Knicks did. Thanks to some stifling defense, New York came out of the Sunshine State with a 98-74 victory. Hart did his part by chipping in 19 points.
But again, all of those standings scenarios weren’t the biggest reason why Hart wanted a win. It had to do with what would happen on social media if they lost.
Hart Did Not Want To See How Orlando Would Celebrate If They Won
The Magic have come up with an unusual creative way to celebrate their wins this season. After each victory, the Orlando social media team posts a screenshot of the final score and pairs it with a viral meme of their choice. Throw in a song by Ayo The Producer (the lyrics of which are "Orlando Magic" on repeat), and some dancing cows every now and again, and you get this.
Warning, if you want to be free of having a repetitive song stuck in your head, don’t watch this video.
Great, now I’m going to spend the rest of the weekend trying to get that out of my head.
After the victory, Hart said that he wanted no part of having to see that in his feed if they lost.
"It was so important because I didn’t want to see Orlando Magic put us on TikTok with their song with some cows dancing, which is a banger," Hart said with a laugh.
He added that he actually really enjoys the song, which he can especially enjoy since he didn’t lose.
"It was good for us to go out there and have a game to build confidence and not hear, ‘Orlando Magic, Orlando Magic.’ Boy, that’s a banger! Whoever made that song is really going places," Hart added.
Even though the post is hilarious, Hart might be (scratch that, definitely) the only one to call the song itself a banger. The rest of us would probably be okay if Orlando found another way to celebrate wins.
Maybe the Knicks should play the Magic every night so we never have to hear this again?
