Kansas City Newspaper Calls For Chiefs To 'Fire' Harrison Butker And Replace Him With A Female Kicker

The Kansas City Star is still one of the most influential newspapers in the Kansas City area. But like so many former respected newspapers, the Star continues to make a mockery of its name.

On Friday, a guy named Peter Hamm called for the Chiefs to "fire" kicker Harrison Butker after his faith-based commencement address at Benedictine College last Saturday.

Hamm urged the Chiefs to replace Butker with a female kicker.

"For poetic justice after Harrison Butker’s Neanderthal outburst — and because the pipeline of talent is real — the Kansas City Chiefs’ next kicker should be a woman," starts the piece.

As OutKick writer David Hookstead commented on the article via X, "This is so far detached from reality I almost have to wonder if it’s performance art."

Either that, or the article is pandering.

Dropping Butker for a female kicker would require the Chiefs to wave goodbye to their ambitious three-peat quest. (No team has ever won three straight Super Bowls. The Chiefs are betting favorites to do so this season).

Kansas City won their last three playoff games last season by one possession. Butker was a perfect 11-for-11 in the playoffs.

The Chiefs do not win the past two Super Bowls without Butker’s ace kicking in the clutch — be it his 45-yarder sending the Chiefs to the Super Bowl two seasons ago; his record-setting 57-yard field goal to keep the Chiefs in the Super Bowl last February; or his kick to send the Super Bowl into the overtime, where the Chiefs eventual topped the 49ers.

Butker is universally recognized as one of the two best kickers in the NFL, along with Justin Tucker of the Ravens. Yet, the Kansas City Star wants him unemployed for sharing the thought-crime of how his wife staying at home has made their lives better.

Here is a live shot of Peter Hamm driving to the Star office:

Butker didn't threaten anyone's safety by drag racing 119 mph. That was his teammate Rashee Rice, whom the Star did not call for the Chiefs to "fire." Just Butker.

"Firing" Butker would be cowardly and foolish. Especially, firing him in favor of a female kicker.

There are currently no female kickers/players in the NFL. There has never been a female kicker/player in the NFL.

We could repeat the tiresome men are biologically bigger, faster and stronger than women statement that we have to keep citing because dolts like Hamm advocate for men and women to compete in athletic competition.

Or we could simply acknowledge that the odds of any woman kicking the football better than the top 32 starting kickers in the NFL are unspeakably low.

The Star name-drops a few women playing kicker in college football, namely Maya Turner from Wayzata, Minnesota. Turner will be a sophomore this fall at the University of Manitoba in Canada.

Perhaps Turner has the leg of a goddess and is good enough to kick one field goal in the NFL, though we'd confidently take the under. However, she's not even eligible for the NFL this season, despite Hamm calling for Butker's job before the season.

Not that NFL kickers are known for their tackling, but a female kicker would be required to tackle a returner a few times a season.  Here's a video of several NFL kickers getting crushed by superior athletes on the football field.

The KC Star would like to see a woman added to that montage.

All that said, most of us are rooting against the Chiefs this. They've won too much. They are the NWO of the NFL.

So, if the woke mob is about to force any NFL team into submission by dropping their starting kicker for a female kicker – we hope it's the Chiefs.
