Kate Middleton Attends Wimbledon Final Amid Cancer Battle, Gets Standing Ovation
Kate Middleton made a rare public appearance amid her cancer treatment to attend the Wimbledon Final.
The Princess of Wales arrived at the men's singles final on July 14 to a standing ovation from the crowd. She was accompanied by her 9-year-old daughter Charlotte and her sister Pippa. The outing marks only the second time this year that Kate has made a public appearance, as she continues to focus on her cancer treatment.
As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club — a role given to her by Queen Elizabeth in 2016 — Kate also presented the trophies after the match.

Her outing comes one month after she joined the royal family for King Charles’ birthday celebrations on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the Trooping the Colour ceremony.
In addition to being a patron, Middleton is an avid tennis fan, and she has made an effort to attend the tournament each year.
Wimbledon organizers previously said they were hopeful that the princess would be able to attend and continue the tradition of handing out the prizes this year. Club chair Debbie Jevans told Telegraph Sport that they will give Princess Kate "as much flexibility as possible," noting that the royal's "health and recovery is the priority."
After undergoing abdominal surgery in January, Middleton revealed in March that post-operative tests found cancer and that she was undergoing chemotherapy. She requested "time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment."
