Karl-Anthony Towns Called Out For Lying Following Brutal Game 3 Performance Against Mavericks

Karl-Anthony Towns had a brutal performance both on and off the court as his Minnesota Timberwolves fell behind 0-3 to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.

Towns struggled in the opening two games of the Western Conference Finals, scoring 16 and 15 points, respectfully, but things got even worse for the big man on Sunday during Minnesota's 116-107 loss in Dallas.

KAT played a series-high 38 minutes in the loss but went just 5-for-18 from the field, including 0-for-8 from three-point range. He still managed to post a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, but it was not a good outing for the former Kentucky star.

While his performance wasn't a memorable one, his postgame press conference was, and not in a good way.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Towns claimed that he's putting up 1,500 shots per day. If that sounds like an incredibly high number, especially given the quick turnarounds for games in the playoffs, that's because it is.

It took the ‘NBA on TNT’ all of about four seconds to call out Town for lying.

"KAT's capping, nobody is shooting 1,500 shots a day right now," Draymond Green said.

"I never took shots, I counted makes, and to make 300 in a day takes about 45 minutes, so if you’re taking 1,500 it’s going to take you about two-and-a-half hours, and you’re already practicing, so it’s cap," Kenny Smith said right after.

Unless Towns is quite literally living in the gym and getting very little to no rest, it doesn't seem possible that he's putting up 1,500 shots a day between games and actual practices with the rest of his team.

If he is telling the truth, putting up 1,500 shots per day and proceeding to go 3-for-22 from three-point land at this point of the series is brutal.
