José Iglesias Will Perform Hit Song 'OMG' At All-Star Game

There’s going to be a lot of fun things happening at the MLB’s All-Star week.

There’s the Home Run Derby, where we get to see the best sluggers in baseball hit nukes for a few hours in a row (who doesn’t want to see that?).

Then, there’s Pittsburgh Pirates rookie sensation Paul Skenes, who’s going to be starting the All-Star Game for the National League. If you're not excited to see this guy make the American League’s best hitters look absolutely foolish, you’re a liar.

But now, fans will have an extra surprise thanks to New York Mets shortstop José Iglesias.

The 34-year-old has had a phenomenal first half of the season (.347 AVG, .940 OPS). But even so, he will not be playing alongside teammate Pete Alonso in the All-Star Game. Instead, he’ll be performing his hit song "OMG," which has already topped the Billboard charts this year.

"I’ll be in Texas," Iglesias said earlier today. "I got a privilege to make a few All-Stars as a player and now as a singer. I’m very humble about it. Thank you for the invitation. I’ll be headed over after the game."

Here’s Iglesias’ on stage performance at Citi Field last month.

It’s not entirely clear when exactly he will perform the song. What we do know is that the Home Run Derby is tomorrow night at 8 p.m. EST, and the All-Star Game is on Tuesday at the same time, which means his performance will take place on one of those days.
