Johnny Manziel Subtly Buries Former Head Coach

Johnny Manziel didn't hesitate to throw Kevin Sumlin under the bus during his interview with Shannon Sharpe.

Manziel won the Heisman while playing for Sumlin at Texas A&M, and he took some time to shine a light on the relationship the two shared.

While the former dual-threat passer made it clear he doesn't have any hard feelings, he also (subtly?) dragged Sumlin as a hypocrite.

Johnny Football simply knows how to move the needle!

Johnny Manziel flames former head coach Kevin Sumlin.

"How do you have a guy who is a grown man telling me what I should do...My head football coach is telling me to live a certain way and put all this partying behind you, but if you know anything about Kevin Sumlin, it's what he's doing behind the scenes," Manziel told Sharpe during the interview.

"From my eyes, it's hypocritical," Manziel added while name dropping specific locations parties would apparently unfold at.

Manziel added the two have a "great relationship" (need Sumlin's take on that!), but not great enough to stop the criticism.

Sharpe asked if the Texas A&M Heisman winner was surprised by the fact Sumlin isn't currently a head coach, and there was no hesitation in his answer.

"No...I think what coach Sumlin so great is no longer really with him right now where his focus is. I think life has gotten the better of him a little bit…I don't see the same spark," the Texas A&M legend explained.

Manziel's interview with Sharpe is truly an incredible stream of content, and I'm not even halfway through it yet. It's hard to believe he's only 31-years-old.

It feels like he's been famous much longer. He won the Heisman more than a decade ago. Feel old yet? Now, he's out here dragging and flaming his former head coach……while also noting they have a good relationship.

I'm definitely going to need some more specifics on the current state of their relationship because it honestly doesn't sound great, judging from his comments.

It should be interesting to find out what other tea Manziel might spill, but he clearly doesn't care about holding anything back at this point. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
