Jerry Rice Threatens Reporters During Celebrity Golf Tournament: 'Want Some, Come Get Some'

Jerry Rice was anything but cool this past week after newly released video shows the former San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl Champion losing it and threatening reporters during a charity golf tournament.

The video, which was taken by a bystander during Thursday's American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, was obtained by TMZ and shows the 61-year-old Rice telling one of the reporters, "I will f*** you up," and added that "if you want some, come get some." Tournament security quickly arrived at the scene and separated Rice from the two reporters, who were a part of Starcade Media.

WERE REPORTERS TROLLING JERRY RICE?

Although all the audio from the released video can't be heard too clearly and there's no information yet if Jerry Rice's freak-out was because the reporters had been harassing him prior to the video recording, what can be heard is the reporters asking Rice about the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiving corps.

According to TMZ, one of the Starcade Media reporters told them that all they did was ask Rice if the Chiefs receivers were good enough to win another Super Bowl. Rice doesn't seem to argue with that fact but says that the tone and way they approached him suggested the reporters were trying to rile him up - which they clearly did.

"I'm going to defend the San Francisco 49ers, this is my history," the 3x Super Bowl Champion told TMZ afterwords while adding that he believed the reporters were smirking and other motives by asking him the question.

In one of the videos released, you can see Rice ignoring the men as they ask him questions, but then shortly after, the former wide receiver comes sprinting back at them as if he's facing the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII.

For their part, Starcade Media does appear to not be clout chasing their encounter with Rice - not yet, at least. In a Twitter post, the media company said that they held onto the video and that they didn't want "any negative publicity for Jerry Rice or the tournament," but that due to TMZ initially reporting on the story without video evidence, Starcade felt the need to release it.

49ERS LOST TO THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS LAST YEAR IN SUPERBOWL LVIII

It remains to be seen if the legendary 49ers wide receiver was just having a bad day on the greens and needed to vent some frustration, or if the reporters were indeed mocking him.

Needless to say, despite not playing for the Niners since 2001, he still holds passionate feelings for the franchise. Last year's 25-22 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LVIII clearly doesn't sit well with him.
