'Jeopardy!' Fails Easy Question Centered on Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant
‘Jeopardy!’ contestants say the darnedest things. Answer all the questions about physics or the Civil War you want; slip up on a Sports question and people will believe that you are a "dumb*ss."
On a recent episode of "Jeopardy!" one unfortunate contestant went viral for going 0-for-1 on an obvious NBA query.
Host Ken Jennings asked contestant Adriana to identify an NBA player, which was a $1,000 question, taken from the "21st Century Sports" category.
Adriana was asked to identify the player, which was Russell Westbrook, from his Oklahoma City Thunder days.
Scrambling for the answer, Adriana gave her guess and bricked the obvious question.
"Who is [Kevin] Durant?" she responded, drawing groans from living rooms all over America.
Seriously, who in America (non-NBA fans included) hasn't heard of Russell Westbrook?
As a 16-year vet, and former MVP, Russell Westbrook's name, image or likeness shouldn't be too unfamiliar to the average American.
Westbrook has a presence in the media as well.
If he's not making headlines for getting fans kicked out of games, Westbrook's usually making the rounds for sporting very odd outfits.
Seriously, what must a man do to be noticed nowadays?
To the contestant's credit, Kevin Durant also played for OKC and as a longtime teammate of Westbrook's (spending eight seasons together) … which begs the question, if Adriana remembered KD from his OKC days, how in the heck did she not recognize Westbrook?
‘Jeopardy!' geniuses missing no-sh*t sports questions will never get old.
