Jaylen Brown Caught Saying He Doesn't Think Bronny James Is 'A Pro,' Cowardly Walks It Back After Going Viral

Bronny James is not an NBA-caliber pro according to Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown. Well, he was at least of that opinion until he got caught saying it on camera and went viral on social media.

With his plethora of free time after not making the Team USA roster for the upcoming Paris Olympics, Brown decided to drop into Summer League action and sat courtside to watch James and the Lakers take on his Celtics squad.

Sitting next to his WNBA player girlfriend Kysre Gondrezicks and WNBA star Angel Reese, Brown was seen turning to the pair and saying "I don't think Bronny is a pro" with a disgruntled look on his face.

We're not doing any over-the-top lip reading here, either, it's clear what he said.

The BricksCenter account shared the clip of Brown making his claim at 12:01 AM ET on Tuesday morning. After it picked up millions upon millions of views, Brown quoted the post a little over five hours later and attempted to walk back his statement about Bronny's abilities.

Going from ‘I don’t think Bronny is a pro' to ‘he has all the tools around him and I can’t wait to watch him' is a wild move when you remember Brown is a 27-year-old grown man weeks removed from being named NBA Finals MVP.

Brown would have earned more respect by not flipping his opinion on Bronny instead of bowing down to Daddy LeBron, which is one of the only logical explanations here.

Plenty, if not the majority, of NBA players, fans, and media alike recognize that, at this point in time, Bronny James is not an NBA-caliber player.

Brown said what almost everyone else is already thinking, but he bowed down to the masses screaming in his mentions on social media and quickly walked back his comment mere hours later.

The Boston star has no problem going after Nike, but had second guesses about saying he doesn't think a young player in Summer League has what it takes to be an NBA pro. Wild.
