Jason Kelce Says Brother Travis 'Crossed The Line' With Andy Reid During Super Bowl Sideline Tantrum

You can add Jason Kelce to the group of folks who thought Travis Kelce took things too far with Andy Reid when he was caught screaming at, and bumping into his head coach during Super Bowl LVIII.

The highly-discussed moment came during the second quarter of the game when Kansas City running back Isiah Pacheco lost a fumble with the Chiefs already trailing San Francisco 3-0. Travis wasn't on the field during the play and let Reid know that he didn't appreciate not being out there.

Travis not only screamed in his head coach's face but bumped into the 65-year-old causing him to lose his balance. Jerick McKinnon had to grab the tight end and pull him back to dissolve the situation.

During the latest edition of the Kelce brothers' ‘New Heights’ podcast, Jason called out his younger brother for his antics on the sideline.

"You crossed the line," Jason told his brother. "The yelling in his face, too, was over the top. I think there are better ways to handle this, retrospectively."

Travis agreed with Jason and admitted that when he bumped into Reid, he recognized it was over the top.

"I can’t get that fired up to the point where I’m bumping coach and getting him off balance. When he stumbled, I was just like, ‘Oh s–t’ in my head," Travis explained.

The Chiefs came back to beat the 49ers in overtime to win their second-consecutive Super Bowl. Therefore, the drama is water under the bridge, but if Kansas City didn't win the contest, the sideline tantrum would have been discussed for days.

After hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, Reid explained that he didn't take any offense to Travis bumping into him or yelling at him, he actually appreciated the passion.

"He caught me off balance," Reid said. "I wasn't watching. He was really coming over [and saying], 'Just put me in, I'll score. I'll score.' So, that's really what it was. I love that. It's not the first time. I appreciate him."

"The part I love is he loves to play the game and he wants to help his team win. It's not a selfish thing. That's not what it is. I understand that. As much as he bumps into me, I get after him and we understand that. He just caught me off balance."

Reid and Travis have spent 11 seasons together in Kansas City and both vowed to make it 12 after the game announcing their plans to return for at least one more run at what would be a third-straight Super Bowl.
