Jason Kelce Believes NFL Gives So Much Attention To Taylor Swift Because 'The Audience Wants To See It'
Jason Kelce knows how to be a good older brother. He just proved it by going on record to support his brother Travis’ girlfriend.
During the Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, the elder Kelce took part in an interview in which he answered questions about Taylor Swift’s influence on the NFL. He mentioned that the league pushed Swift’s presence so much because a large contingent of fans want to see her.
"The attention is there because the audience wants to see it," Kelce said "I mean, if people didn’t want to see it, they wouldn’t be showing it, I know that."
That’s mostly true, but he seems to forget there’s a large portion of the NFL audience that could get by with less Swift in their lives.
Regardless, he continued to offer his ringing endorsement of Swift, calling her an amazing example for young women.
"She’s a world star. She’s the quintessential artist right now in the world — singer-songwriter, immensely talented, unbelievable role model for young women across the globe," Kelce said. "So I think that the NFL would probably be foolish not to show her and be a role model for all the young girls out there."
It’s true, she might be a great role model in terms of what women can accomplish. But not everyone who watches the NFL is an adolescent female in search of a role model.
Even so, Kelce did the right thing by supporting Travis’ significant other in an amazing example of honoring the bro code. Plus, Swift is making an overnight flight from Japan to Las Vegas to support Travis in the Super Bowl, which has to make the older brother happy.
The Kelce’s shared admiration for Swift can make up for any lack of support the NFL's fan base shows her.
