Indiana Fever Head Coach Christie Sides Calls For WNBA To Intervene And Protect Caitlin Clark From Abuse

None of Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever teammates had her back during Saturday’s game against the Chicago Sky. But now her coach, Christie Sides, is standing up for her star player.

On Saturday afternoon, Chicago’s Chennedy Carter body-checked Clark to the ground in a completely dirty play. Carter was thoroughly unapologetic about her unnecessary actions, refusing to answer any questions regarding the incident after the game. She also has posted that Clark doesn’t bring anything to the WNBA besides 3-point shooting.

(I guess record attendance and viewership numbers don’t count in Carter’s analysis of what Clark brings to a previously obscure league. But I digress).

Lots of people - including Draymond Green - have offered a variety of solutions for what the Fever should do in response to the attacks Clark has received. But Sides is now appealing to the WNBA to intervene.

"This is unacceptable," Sides wrote on X. "When will the consistent complaints be heard?!? Something has to be done!"

This isn’t the first time Clark has been targeted either. Despite bringing an unprecedented amount of attention to the WNBA, players are both physically and verbally attacking her at every turn.

But for no reason, the WNBA has yet to take any meaningful action against the obvious vendetta against Clark. Sides shouldn’t have to take to social media to bring awareness to the problem, the league should take initiative on its own.

Hopefully this ends soon, because Clark has done nothing to deserve all of this hatred.
