Harrison Butker Thrilled With Trump's Selection For Ambassador To The Vatican
Donald Trump has chosen his nominee for the office of U.S. ambassador to the Vatican, and Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is thrilled with the decision.
The president-elect has selected Brian Burch, the president of CatholicVote (a Catholic political advocacy group), to be our country’s representative to the Vatican. Burch played a big part in helping get Trump his second term as president.
"Brian is a devout Catholic, a father of nine, and President of CatholicVote. He has received numerous awards, and demonstrated exceptional leadership, helping build one of the largest Catholic advocacy groups in the Country," Trump’s announcement on Friday read in part. "He represented me well during the last Election, having garnered more Catholic votes than any Presidential Candidate in History! Brian loves his Church and the United States - He will make us all proud."
When this news broke, it caught the attention of the Chiefs kicker, who himself is a devout Catholic (and one of the most accurate kickers ever).
"Brian has been a leading voice in the Catholic community here in America through his organization Catholic Vote and now in his new role, he can take those gifts to Rome," Butker said.
Part of Burch’s responsibilities will include not just representing America, but discussing international issues and helping fight human trafficking. Both Trump and Butker’s support of the new ambassador says a lot about the man’s character and talents, which makes it seem like this was a home run selection.
We know one thing is for certain, Butker is happy with the situation.
