Guy Shows Up To WM Phoenix Open In Wedding Dress, Fantasy Football Punishment Or Fashion Statement?

The WM Phoenix Open is one of the most exciting events on the PGA Tour schedule. It's affectionately known as "The People's Open." Last year, the Tour made it one of their "elevated events."

This year, it did not receive that designation. Still, many top players elected to compete in the tournament anyway because of its uniqueness. That includes World #1 Scottie Scheffler along with fan favorites Jordan Spieth, Max Homa and others.

TPC Scottsdale, the host of the event, has a grandstand built around the 16th hole, a par-3. It's one of the few times in the PGA Tour season that fans are encouraged to get very, very loud.

Some of the most memorable moments have happened on that green, including golfers Harry Higgs and Joel Dahmen ripping their shirts off while fans showered them with beer cans.

The 16th hole at the WM Phoenix Open likely provided a blueprint for LIV Golf, which encourages these types of environments at all their events.

The point is: you just never know what you might see at this particular February stop on the PGA Tour.

Early Thursday morning, fans got their first glimpse of what to expect from the week. A man donning a wedding dress, with a Miller Lite in hand, casually strolled through the TPC Scottsdale grounds.

We don't yet know why he chose this look, but the announcers – and people on social media – suggested this looked like a fantasy football loser punishment.

If this is, in fact, a fantasy football punishment, it's a pretty damn good one. If this guy is simply making a fashion statement, I think my level of respect is even higher for him.

Because we here at OutKick consider ourselves intrepid journalists, I'm going to do my best to find this gentleman and get to the bottom of the story.

Stay tuned.
