Giants Fans Get Positive Update On QB Daniel Jones' ACL Rehab

A healthy, middling quarterback is better than an injured middling quarterback.

New York Giants fans received some good news surrounding quarterback Daniel Jones after a rocky year.

During the offseason, Jones faced significant uncertainty regarding his ACL rehab timeline leading into Giants training camps.

According to Ian Rapoport on his "Insiders" show on Wednesday, the NFL insider shared that the six-year starter for the Giants will be active for the start of training camp on July 24.

In Week 8 last season, Daniel Jones suffered an ACL tear, playing against the Las Vegas Raiders amid a ‘prove it’ campaign for the Giants starter.

Jones recently appeared for a podcast interview with Phil and Matt Simms and gave a glowing update on his ACL rehab.

"At this point. I’m doing pretty much everything — running, cutting, everything I need to do," Jones shared.

Daniel Jones, 27, remains an unproven starter on the Giants' dismal offense. But New York's front office failed to bolster the quarterback depth other than adding longtime backup Drew Lock.

As of now, Jones is the Giants' only hope, and he should play accordingly next year or get the boot.

The Giants went all in on Jones last offseason with a sizable contract extension, totaling four years and $160 million.

Despite New York's commitment, Jones remained on the hot seat for the starting job, but it all came to a crash after DJ's ACL tear. Jones went 1-5 last season as a starter, throwing for 909 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions. Jones also missed time last season with a neck injury, furthering concerns over his durability.

The Giants finished the 2023-24 season with a 6-11 record and are making a case for the worst team in the NFC East heading into next season, a title currently held by Washington.
