College Football Fans Livid Over Start Time for Clemson-Georgia Game
College football fans aren't too fired up about Clemson and Georgia starting at noon.
The game between the two traditional powers will kick off at noon ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and it should be a great game.
However, starting a game at noon when it's a matchup between two titans of the past 15+ years isn't going to spin up a bunch of hype.
Fans not pleased with Georgia/Clemson start time
I hate noon start times for big games. Hate them. At the very least, play major games starting at 3:30 ET. Don't start them at noon if it can be avoided.
Turns out, a lot of fans feel the same way. Check out some of the reactions below following the news of the Georgia/Clemson kick time, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
This situation is even worse for SEC fans. SEC teams used to play their premier game of the week on CBS at 3:30 ET. That block is now owned by the Big Ten.
That means SEC teams will get shifted around a bit. Fans probably assumed that meant more night games. Not so fast, my friends.
Turns out Clemson and Georgia will take the field in Atlanta at noon local time. Absolutely brutal if you're used to night games or afternoon games.
The reality of the situation is that nothing hits like a night game does. Yes, I understand not every big game can be a night game. There's only so much TV landscape to go around, but a game under the lights is a shot of electricity to the soul. Seeing darkness all around you with the lights pouring down and a deafening crowd is college football at its finest. Too bad for Georgia and Clemson fans because they won't experience it August 31st in Atlanta.
