Fuming Dale Earnhardt Jr. Blasts 'Moronic' NASCAR Drivers After Safety Scare

I know – another Dale Earnhardt Jr. NASCAR blog from Zach. ‘We get it, you like Dale Jr.’

I can already see the emails now. But listen … I promise I'm not doing it for the clicks. I've long said, when Dale Earnhardt Jr. talks, NASCAR fans should listen. And listen closely.

(I'm also doing it for the clicks, but it's also July 17th, so what else do you want me to write about?)

Because, 9 times out of 10, he's right. There isn't another ex-athlete in any sport that has the pull Dale Jr. does with NASCAR. Normally, when athletes retire, they're gone. Poof. In the wind. But not Junior.

He has an insanely popular podcast, used to be an NBC broadcaster until those dummies didn't re-sign him, and will be part of Amazon's inaugural NASCAR broadcast team next summer. He has pull, and say. And when he talks – or, in this case, shouts – folks listen.

So, yes. I have another Dale Jr. blog for you. So listen the hell up, because he's pissed about NASCAR "taking a look" at Sunday's incident between Corey LaJoie and Kyle Busch.

Volume up, morons!

Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn't buying what NASCAR is selling

I mean, there ain't nothing better than high-pitched, cussing, finger-pointing Dale Earnhardt Jr. Nothing. When the voice goes up, so does the temperature. It's a beautiful thing to watch.

So, this stems from NASCAR's decision earlier this month to fine Bubba Wallace – another OutKick favorite! – $50,000 for door-banging Alex Bowman after Bowman won at Chicago. The video went viral – or gained some attention, as Junior would say – and Bubba was eventually fined a pretty crazy amount.

Why? Well, some assume it was because Bowman's window-net was down and/or seatbelt was off at the time Bubba sent him into next week. Not great!

Fast-forward to Sunday's race at Pocono, and you had Corey LoJoie essentially hook Kyle Busch going into Turn 1 and wrecking Rowdy right out of the race. It was somewhat of a dirty move in the sense that LaJoie literally went up the track and wrecked him, but it's nothing we really haven't seen before.

Just sort of ‘one of them racin’ deals,' as Junior would say.

Anyway, LaJoie wasn't fined, even after his little move went viral, but NASCAR did admit earlier this week that they were only looking into it because … it gained some attention on social media:

I mean, if NASCAR is gonna investigate every single incident on the track based off of social media reaction, they're gonna have a loooooooooong summer. Can't do that.

Hell, my award-winning Monday column – MMPS! – would basically control the entire sport at that point, because my only goal on Mondays is to make NASCAR moments from Sunday go viral.

Anyway, it's a slippery slope for NASCAR, and obviously one Dale Earnhardt Jr. ain't pleased with.

Well, that, and he's also no fond of dumb, idiot, moronic, dumbass drivers not staying buckled until they get back to pit road after the race … if you couldn't tell.

PS: there is absolutely zero percent chance a young, stupid Dale Jr. didn't unbuckle immediately after every race. Zero.

Zach grew up in Florida, lives in Florida, and will never leave Florida ... for obvious reasons. He's a reigning fantasy football league champion, knows everything there is to know about NASCAR, and once passed out (briefly!) during a lap around Daytona. He swears they were going 200 mph even though they clearly were not.
