Former Texas DL T'Vondre Sweat Arrested For Driving Intoxicated: Report
Former Texas Longhorn defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat was arrested for driving while intoxicated Sunday afternoon, according to a report by NBC affiliate kxan. T'Vondre is the younger brother of NFL pass rusher Josh Sweat.
Sweat was arrested by Austin Police Department authorities and booked on a misdemeanor DWI charge. According to Texas law, Sweat could face a $2,000 fine and up to 180 days in jail.
A video of Sweat on Sunday showed the 22-year-old leaving Travis County Jail; he was released after posting bond ($3,000).
OutKick's Dan Zaksheske projected Sweat as a first-round pick (No. 20) in the upcoming NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 362-pound lineman was named the Big 12 defensive player of the year in 2023.
"Sweat could be a plug-and-play interior defender that helps retain the Steelers' identity as a tough team to face in the trenches," Zaksheske wrote.
With the NFL Draft just a couple of weeks away, it'll be intriguing to see how the arrest affects the conversation around Sweat, especially if it ends up being the difference between a first-round and second-round selection for the young player.
