Fans Roast Anthony Davis For Leaving With A Non-Contact Injury In His Mavericks Debut
Dallas Mavericks big man Anthony Davis left Saturday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets with a non-contact injury, and fans let him hear it.
As you probably know, Davis was traded to the Mavericks from the Los Angeles Lakers as part of the shocking Luka Doncic trade. While fans were understandably livid that Doncic is gone (heck, they protested the move right before the game started), they did get a top-tier defender in the process and a guy who can create offense for himself in pretty much any way imaginable.

The Davis era got off to a good start (a welcome side for anxious Dallas fans), as he finished an alley-oop from Kyrie Irving for his first major highlight with the team. This looked like a snapshot of things to come for the dynamic point guard-big man duo.
In just the first half, Davis put up a double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds, while dishing out seven assists. The Doncic loss hurts, but if Davis could play like this, it could sting a lot less.
However, fans were quickly reminded of the downside of having Davis on your roster: injuries, both fake and real. Late in the third quarter, he suffered a non-contact injury to his groin and went to the locker room.
Fans quickly pointed out that this was the problem with the 31-year-old: it’s hard for him to stay healthy. As such, they brutally roasted him.
Maybe Davis will get healthy soon. But one thing is for certain: the Mavericks' future will be murky if Davis is consistently hurt.
