Fan Keeps Promise, Gets DeMar DeRozan Tattoo After Sacramento Kings Add Star
DeMar DeRozan has officially joined with the Sacramento Kings, and in doing so prompted one fan to show a level of dedication most, if not all of us, don’t have.
Sacramento’s move is one of the biggest in franchise history in terms of acquiring a bonafide star within the league (which the Kings don’t often do). For $74 million over three years, they will get a durable, reliable scorer who will bring a lot of experience to a squad hungry to break through in a loaded Western Conference.
Mind you, that doesn’t mean that the deal will be guaranteed to go positively for either side. Heck, we’ve seen countless stars go to new teams only for it to be a total bust. DeRozan and Sacramento could end up mixing like oil and water.
But that doesn’t mean the fans can’t be hopeful about how positive of a development this could be. One fan is going way, way, way above and beyond to express how excited he is that DeRozan is coming to California’s capital.
Before Double D has done anything to prove that he’s worth his contract, one fan followed through with his promise and got the Kings’ logo and DeRozan’s name tattooed on his arm. That’s an elite level of dedication.
This is something I would never do. I’m hyped that the Boston Bruins signed Elias Lindholm in free agency, but I wouldn’t even consider getting anything about him tattooed on my body until he plays a major role in winning a Stanley Cup (which I hope beyond all get out happens this year).
I guess what I’ve learned today is that there are two types of fans: those who are willing to think so positively about their teams that they’ll get tattoos, and those who won’t.
Props to this guy for being in the first category.
