Ex-NBA Baller's Family Reportedly Threatened With Scissors
Former NBA champion and European hoops player Nemanja Bjelica had a frightening encounter involving his family and a deranged man. According to a report from Sportando, Bjelica and his family were threatened by the man holding a pair of scissors and making verbal threats Feb. 3. Bjelica's encounter occurred at a playground in Belgrade.
Reported footage of the attack showed former soccer player Nikola Petkovic as the man threatening Bjelica and his family. Bjelica shares a daughter with his wife.
"I will take your family, your children, your wife, and you. I will take your money", the ex-soccer player shouted. No one was injured at the scene. Petkovic was arrested and has been in detainment for two days.
The 35-year-old Serbian basketball player joined the NBA in 2010, drafted in the second round by the Washington Wizards.
For 16 years, Bjelica flipped between the NBA and international hoops. He won EuroLeague MVP honors in 2017. In 2022, Nemanja Bjelica won an NBA ring as part of Steph Curry's championship-winning Golden State Warriors. He played seven seasons in the Association.
