'Emotional' Roger Federer Documentary On The Way
Amazon dives deeper into the realm of sports content with a new project announced centered on tennis legend Roger Federer.
In a report by Bloomberg, the documentary chronicles the final 12 days of Federer's career before his eventual retirement in 2022.
"It’s a snapshot of my life over those 12 days, which is pretty hardcore and interesting," Federer said. "I never let anyone come into my house," he shared.

"It’s a very personal film," he added. "It’s looking deep into another layer of the tennis tour – how the camaraderie is a good one on the tour. Yes, here are rivalries, but off the court there are friendships and respect."
The 20-time Grand Slam winner led one of the most decorated careers in pro tennis.
Early details on the Federer doc shared that the project was not originally intended to be feature-length. The 12 days of footage shot before Federer's retirement at an emotional 2022 Laver Cup proved strong enough to spawn an interest in the rights to the project.
Amazon eventually secured the rights to the film.
Most recently, Amazon released documentaries on the NFL's Kelce brothers and a documentary on Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders.
The untitled Federer project is slated for release in July.
