Rock Star Calls Harrison Butker A 'P***y': VIDEO

Eddie Vedder isn't a fan of Harrison Butker.

Butker's commencement speech at Benedictine College has turned into one of the most polarizing topics in America. Some people are supporting his pro-family message about the benefits of getting married, having kids and being a homemaker. Others are trying to argue the speech was anti-woman and the Chiefs star wants to keep women in the kitchen - something he never said.

It's been wild seeing all the different takes, and the Pearl Jam star has joined the list of people speaking out against Butker.

Eddie Vedder calls Harrison Butker a "p***y."

Well, Vedder decided a Saturday show in Las Vegas was a great opportunity to share his thoughts, and he thinks Butker is a "p***y."

"He was telling men, ‘Don’t forget to puff up your chest and be more masculine. Don’t lose your masculinity.’ The irony was that when he was saying that, he looked like such a [inaudible] p***y. There's nothing more masculine than a strong man supporting a strong woman. People of quality do not fear equality," Vedder said at the weekend show in Las Vegas.

His comments seemed to be motivated by the fact his opening band - Deep Sea Diver - has female members. You can watch his comments in the video below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

What is Vedder even talking about? What did Butker say to suggest that he doesn't believe women are equal? Below are the Chiefs kicker's exact words:

"For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. I want to speak directly to you briefly, because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you. How many of you are sitting here now, about to cross this stage, and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world."

Butker also profusely praised his wife during the speech as an amazing person who helped elevate his life. How is any of this offensive? You can agree with it or disagree with his message about family, but it's not incendiary.

Yet, Vedder is out here calling him a "p***y" for talking about masculinity and being pro-family. Incredibly strange and weird.

Fortunately for Butker, support continues to grow for him. The Hunt family - who own the Chiefs - has thrown its support behind him, his teammate Chris Jones spoke up for him and all sizes of his women's jersey sold out late last week. Yet, I'm sure we're far from this situation being over. Reactions will definitely continue to roll in. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com
