Donovan Mitchell Sick Of 'Fake' Reports About Bubbling Frustration With Teammates

Everyone's losing their minds in Cleveland now that the Cavaliers are out of the playoffs, with seemingly no hope for the future in the weak Eastern Conference.

Part of the concern revolves around Cavs All-Star Donovan Mitchell, a popular player suspected of switching teams this offseason.

One of the rumors surrounding a Mitchel exodus from Cleveland suggests that the star player grew frustrated with his teammates and wants out for that very reason.

Mitchell took time out of his Thursday to dispel those rumors, calling out reporters for spreading misinformation (according to Mitchell).

"Yeah aight [cap] I’m sick of yall sometimes!" Donovan posted on X, quoting a report on his supposed "frustration" with teammates. The report from Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor claimed that Mitchell grew frustrated with guys on the team for lacking maturity and experience.

It was a rough five-game series against Boston for the Cleveland Cavs. And as the team struggled with injuries against Boston, including a two-game absence by Mitchell in the elimination series, many questioned if the roster could prove sustainable for long-term success, which snow-balled into speculation over Mitchell's future.

Mitchell put up solid numbers in 10 postseason games this year, averaging 29.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists.

As for Mitchell's plans this offseason — chances are that the Cavaliers will throw him a super-max contract extension offer he won't be able to refuse. Cleveland gave up too many assets in their trade with the Utah Jazz to lose Mitchell. The Cavs traded away Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton, Ochai Agbaji, three first-round picks, and added two pick swaps to land Donovan Mitchell.

While the Cavaliers roster has its gaps, their young core comprised of Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen is a promising foundation compared to more than half of the league's rosters.

Mitchell is tired of the ‘fake news’ surrounding his name, but only time will tell if the media or the player is blowing smoke.
