Donald Trump And Joe Biden Go Back And Forth About Their Golf Games Before Biden Loses Train Of Thought

It was inevitable that golf was going to be discussed during the Presidential Debate on Thursday night. On one side, you have Donald Trump, who may play more golf than any current or former elected official ever, always at the ready to talk about winning club championships. Then you have Joe Biden, who still likes to play, although his game is more like ‘hit it, find it, and go hit it again,' which is not unlike most other 81 year olds out there.

Golf entered the debate courtesy of Trump after the former President was asked a question about his health, specifically about voters who have concerns about his health given that he would be 82 by the end of what would be his second term if he is elected.

Trump took time to note that he had taken two cognitive tests - which is two more than Biden has taken - before talking about his two most recent club championship victories. 

"To do that, you have to be quite smart," Trump said while pointing to his head. "And you have to hit the ball a long way, and I do it, he doesn't do it, he can't hit a ball 50 yards."

In his response, Biden said that he'd be "happy to have a driving contest" with Trump before claiming that he got his handicap down to a six while he was Vice President. Bragging about what your handicap was seven years ago, which is when Biden last served as VP, isn't the cool brag the President thinks it is.

Biden took his ‘challenge’ to play Trump in golf to another level saying he'd be happy to play with him if the former President would carry his own bag. As if we're supposed to believe Biden is out playing golf carrying his own bag when the man routinely gets lost on stages.

Seconds later, after Trump said Biden's claim to being a six handicap was "the biggest lie of all," the President said he was an eight handicap before completely losing his train of thought and forgetting how to speak for a handful of seconds.

Trump's "I've seen your swing, I know your swing" was easily the best line of the entire exchange. It's a line you'd hear in the bar when a person you barely know starts talking about how great he is at golf, but you know every other word out of their mouth is a lie.
