Devils Fan Headbutts Rangers Supporter, Flips Crowd The Bird As He's Escorted Out By Security

The New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers do not, have not, and will never like one another. The same can be said for the fans of both franchises, and a few fans in the stands for Thursday's matchup delivered a rather spot-on representation of how heated the rivalry can be.

During the first period of what ended up being a blowout, 5-1 win for the Rangers, a Devils fan wearing a Jack Hughes jersey was caught jawing with a Rangers supporter. The two met in the stairway in the lower bowl, and after a few seconds of going back and forth with one another and the crowd egging them on, the New Jersey fan elected to headbutt the other man.

One fan can be heard yelling "beat his ass," which seemed to be all the fan needed to launch his head at the Rangers supporter as the headbutt came about two seconds after the green light.

It looked like the headbutt landed directly with the Rangers fan's nose but somehow didn't draw any blood. The New York fan managed to get off of his feet and launched a rather lengthy punch towards the Hughes' supporter before he was ultimately taken up the steps by security.

For his final act, the Devils fan threw up the middle finger as he made his way out of the arena. He hilariously shouted "I didn't start sh-t" while making his exit as well, as if someone forced him to headbutt another man in front of thousands of fans in the middle of an NHL game.

The Devils have had a bad go against the Rangers this season having lost both matchups by a combined score of 10-4.
