Detroit Pistons Guard Jaden Ivey Shares Gospel In Postgame Interviews: Time To 'Wake Up'
Preach!
It's refreshing to watch a player on an NBA podium deliver a selfless message.
More names in pro sports are expressing the importance of their faith — crediting the aspect as a key to success in their respective careers.
Among the Jesus followers is Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey, who spoke about his faith after Thursday's win against the Ben Simmons-less Nets. The Pistons won, 118-112.
After the game, Ivey held his faith up high for all to witness.
"First, I just want to say that. That Jesus is the way, the truth, the life," Ivey started. All eyes were on the 22-year-old for delivering a Herculean performance against Brooklyn. Rather than soak in the attention, Ivey shifted the spotlight to his beliefs.

"And to any of, you know, in the world that's hearing this message, the kingdom of heaven is near," Ivey added. "Jesus is coming back, and we all have to repent for our sins. And then we have to put our faith in Jesus. He will come back. When you least expect it. You know, it's time to wake up, if you haven't put your faith in Jesus Christ."
Though far from a David and Goliath matchup, the Pistons secured a much-needed win (and a morale booster). Detroit couldn't deliver without Ivey's major impact.
But Detroit desperately needed the win, boasting a total of 10 wins on their record heading into the Brooklyn game. He elevated the Pistons to their 11th win, alongside fellow Pistons rising star Cade Cunningham (32 points, 11 assists).
Ivey, OutKick's Riley Gaines, Orlando Magic's Jonathan Isaac and more athletes have adamantly credited their faith for moving mountains.
"My favorite piston. He is the guy!!" an X user posted.
As politics creep into sports, athletes with a real, positive message are standing out and keeping the faith.
