Dumb People Are Upset About How The Des Moines Police Department Congratulated Iowa State's Audi Crooks
The Iowa State Cyclones put on a show in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament on Friday night by pulling off the second-biggest comeback in the tournament's history after they trailed the Maryland Terrapins by as many as 20 points.
Even more impressive, Iowa State's Audi Crooks became only the second player — men's or women's — to score 40 points while shooting 90% in a tournament game. The other was Bill Walton.
Additionally, Crooks picked up 12 rebounds in the Cyclones' 93-86.
So, in summation, she completely went off, as the kids say.
It was a historic accomplishment and Crooks was rightfully receiving her fair share of congratulations, including one from the Des Moines Police Department.
Hang on, hang on, hang on… did they forget that this is 2024, and police departments making a subtle joke while congratulating a player for an incredible accomplishment will set off the weak-minded among us?
Because it did.
If you've been on the lookout for a textbook example of what it looks like when people go out of their way to get offended over nothing, this is it.
I mean, I don't know how much simpler it could get. Crooks' last name is "Crooks." No one could stop her. It's that simple.
But nope, it was posted by a police department so people too stupid to formulate a thought for themselves are upset.
Progressives conditioned people to hate law enforcement. Now, you've got people that launch a knee-jerk reaction to anything the police do. Even if that is a benign tweet to congratulate an athlete for her historic performance.
In fact, I firmly believe if that same exact tweet was sent by an account that didn't belong to a police department, they'd be eating it up and clapping like brain-dead circus seals.
These people are so dumb, that they can't even pick up on the idea that posts like this are designed to help the PD connect with the community.
That's a good thing, but you knew that because you're not a reactionary doofus who has been spoon-fed the idea that "police bad."
Nothing is worse than people incapable of independent thought, and unfortunately, they've descended on what was a kind gesture from the folks at the Des Moines Police Department.
Good on them, and once again, congratulations to Audi Crooks on one hell of an NCAA Tournament debut!
