Deion Sanders Wants To Cash In On Potential UCLA Transfers After Chip Kelley's Departure

No matter what you might say about Deion Sanders, he never lets an opportunity go to waste.

UCLA Bruins head coach Chip Kelly sent shockwaves throughout the college football world today. News broke that he accepted the position as offensive coordinator for the Ohio State Buckeyes, as head coach Ryan Day continues to strengthen his program.

This development means that UCLA players will have roughly a month to transfer if they so choose. The NCAA allows for players to have 30 days to transfer if their head coach gets hired by another school.

A school whose roster is in flux and could see a lot of transfers in the coming weeks? Sounds like a perfect opportunity for Sanders - the king of the transfer portal - to make his move.

Sanders Wants UCLA Players To Come To Colorado

The content creator for the Colorado Buffaloes football program tweeted out a GIF of Coach Prime saying one of his most famous phrases.

At first, this might seem like Sanders is trying to to tell UCLA that he’s open to coaching the Bruins. However, that’s not the case.

Sure, UCLA won a bowl game last year and finished with twice as many wins overall (8) as Colorado (4). But UCLA’s recruiting class ranks 87th in the country, and they’ll likely struggle in the short-term with their new move to a revamped Big 10. 

Plus, his kids just bought him a multimillion dollar home in Colorado, complete with a lake and a view of the mountains. He’s staying.

This tweet was a play to lure any Bruins players who want a new home to Colorado. Not a bad idea too; Colorado could use a lot of help on defense, and UCLA’s defense ranked tenth in the nation in total yards allowed last year. I’m sure there’s a few people on that roster that would love to play for Coach Prime.

Sanders knows how the current college football landscape works, and is a master at using it to his advantage. Let the chaos begin.
