Deion Sanders Says Shedeur Sanders & Travis Hunter Will Pull ‘An Eli’ And Pick Which NFL Team They Play For
The Deion Sanders-led Colorado Buffaloes may have finished at the bottom of the Pac-12. But the entitlement is at an all-time high.
Making an appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast this week, Coach Prime made some bold predictions about quarterback Shedeur Sanders (his son) and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter in the 2025 NFL Draft. Not only does he believe both players will go in the top-4, but he also says they'll be able to pick the team they want to play for.
"All this is subjective because I know where I kind of want them to go," Deion said. "And let's not forget Shilo (Sanders). But I know where I want them to go. There's certain cities where it ain't going to happen. ...It's going to be an Eli [Manning]."
Eli Manning infamously refused to play for the San Diego Chargers, who selected him at No. 1 overall in 2004, and was subsequently traded to the New York Giants.
Deion Sanders Is Making Demands For 2025 NFL Draft
According to Deion, Shedeur will be the first overall pick in the 2025 draft class, and Hunter will fall no lower than No. 4. But don't expect them to play for any team they don't like or — God forbid — in a city with bad weather.
"I don't want my kid going nowhere cold next year," Sanders said. "He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson, played in Colorado. Season's over before it gets cold in Colorado. I'm just thinking way ahead. I don't want that for him."
Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers… None of them were too good to play in cold weather cities. But Shedeur surely deserves better!
And that's not to take anything away from the Colorado QB. Shedeur is certainly impressive — throwing for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions in 2023, despite having an offensive line like Swiss cheese. And Hunter, too, undoubtedly has NFL scouts drooling. The two-way star had 23 tackles and three interceptions as a DB last season, while also collecting 721 receiving yards and five touchdowns as a wideout.

But let's not forget that Colorado is coming off a disappointing 4-8 season in the first year under Coach Prime. The super-hyped Buffs began the year with three wins, but then proceeded to go 1-8 the rest of the way.
So maybe worry about upping that win total in 2024, Deion, before you start throwing demands at NFL teams.
