Colorado Players Laugh Off Report Of Deion Sanders Forcing Them To Attend Lil Wayne Concert Featuring Shedeur

Colorado football players and staff members are firing back at a recent report that stated they were told by Deion Sanders that they had to attend a Lil Wayne concert during its spring game weekend in Boulder this past April.

This is one of the latest examples of the craziness that surrounds the Colorado football program on a daily basis, especially with Coach Prime and Shedeur Sanders grabbing most of the attention.

According to a report from Athlon Sports writer Steve Corder, when Shedeur Sanders was going to debut a new song as the opener for Lil Wayne, players were told that they had to attend the show to support their starting quarterback.

This was reportedly the ‘final straw’ for some players on the team that led them to hit the transfer portal.

"The Wayne concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal," a players source told Steve Corder. "When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and Daddy Ball was being played."

In the aftermath of the report, there have not been any names released that entered the portal due to a concert. But Colorado players were ready to discuss the report that came out last week, in a video released on Monday by Deion Sanders Jr and his media company.

Colorado Players Confused By Report, Laugh It Off

Now, Deion Sanders and his kids, along with members of the football team, are clapping back at the report, with confusion and laughter.

"Hey man, that's crazy because we didn’t even know i was going to perform," Shedeur Sanders told Deion Sanders Jr. in his Youtube video. "How we decide five minutes (Before), but dad had already predetermined? Dad didn’t even know we we're gonna perform."

Then, Deion Sanders Jr. made his way into strength coach Maurice Sims office to ask how many players he had to punish for not attending the ‘mandatory’ concert, which led to a funny response.

"Bro what is up with that, people just making up weird stuff," Sims replied to Sanders Jr. "It was not mandatory to go to the concert. Guys just wanted to be good teammates. Did they even know he was performing? I didn't even know."

Along with a number of other players in the weight room, it seemed as though they put this story to bed, as the whole situation seemed to be overblown.

According to folks familiar with the situation at Colorado, the whole event was built around the Colorado Spring Game weekend, and players attending the concert were there to just have fun. Also, this was an event that titled ‘Black And Gold Weekend’ that featured many other events surrounding the concert, capped off with the Spring game, before the Lil Wayne show later that night.

Even Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime, got in on the action through social media, dismissing the entire report as one big lie.

"This is one of the best lies I’ve heard. God bless u and I pray u sleep well tonight because we are. Lawd JESUS," Deion said on social media

I think it's fair to say that the Colorado football program is chalking this up to another hit on the team, along with all the other nonsense happening in Boulder.

There's so much noise coming out of the football program, it's hard to know what to believe these days.
