The Deion Sanders Effect Once Again Pays Off For Colorado, As Tickets Will Be Hard To Come Bye

For the second year in a row, Colorado football is once again profiting off Deion Sanders when it comes to ticket sales.

For just the tenth time in program history, Colorado has sold-out its allotment of season tickets. This comes at a time when the athletic department continues to see a return on investment when it came to the hiring of Deion Sanders.

However you choose to look at what Sanders has done in Boulder, or the way he has gone about putting together a team, one thing is certain, and that's the fan base continues to buy-in to the hype surrounding the football program.

It certainly helps when you have players like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to market to the fan base, along with Coach Prime himself. But when athletic director Rick George made the decision to hire Sanders, he ended up hitting the jackpot when it came to merchandise and ticket sales.

It's almost astonishing to see a football program go from handing out tickets to fans for free, to now having a waiting list just to purchase a season ticket package. Sure, there have been naysayers when it comes to the on-field product, and rightfully so. But you cannot deny the energy within the Colorado fan base because of what Deion Sanders and his crew are doing off the field, leading up to the season-opener in August.

One of the biggest questions regarding the future of Colorado football centers around how long this train will continue running down the tracks with Coach Prime. There have been folks who think that Sanders will depart Boulder once his kids leave, while Deion has proclaimed he isn't letting his family dictate his future in college football.

Colorado Off-Season Has Been Far From Normal, Fans Don't Care

An off-season full of players either leaving the program or finding a new home in Boulder has led to mixed reactions around the country. Let's be honest, nothing Deion Sanders is doing at Colorado is normal when it comes to the transfer portal, but the head coach is trying to win now, not later.

So, we will see if the gamble pays off this season, which features a number of games that will draw the attention of college football fans. Now, with the move to the Big 12 conference, fans will have the chance to see the Buffaloes play a new crop of teams, along with some familiar faces.

We are on the cusp of a season that could define the coaching legacy of Deion Sanders, as another mid-season breakdown could force fans outside the Colorado base to stop paying attention on a weekly basis.

But for now, the bookstore continues to move merchandise.  Fans have once again proven that they are ready for another season of Colorado football under Deion Sanders.
