Comedian Shane Gillis Throws Solid First Pitch At Phillies Game
Comedian Shane Gillis continues his hot streak as a special guest for the Philadelphia Phillies. Gillis, a noted Philly sports die-hard, threw out the first pitch ahead of Wednesday's game between the Phillies and Texas Rangers at Citizens Bank Park.
The result … not as bad as you'd think. For a big guy, Gillis is sneaky athletic, and the lefty showed off some of his athletic prowess with a pitch that managed to get over home plate into the glove of Phillies star Bryce Harper.
See for yourself and tell us what you think of Gillis' cannon (reach out: alejandro.avila@outkick.com).

Gillis has been on a run since he got axed as a regular cast member for Saturday Night Live. He led the rebound of the century, losing his job at SNL over podcast comments he made in the past, only to gain a national spotlight and take off with it. His comedy may not suit every sense of humor, but for a laid-back bro comic, Gillis is fairly entertaining.
Sporting teams and woke companies out to prove they're NOT woke (Bud Light) are capitalizing on the comedian's trending appeal.
During last week's NFL schedule reveals, Gillis appeared in the Dallas Cowboys' schedule drop, making a cameo as a groupie for the Eagles.
"The run they’ve been on has been incredible. It’s been really fun to watch," Gillis commented on his Phillies, as relayed by Philly Sports Network.
It turns out Gillis had tons of pressure riding on his shoulders as he headed into Wednesday's first pitch.
Gillis added, "I’m trying not to be like 50 Cent … I got one day of practice in. I was at the University of Texas. I got to throw from the mound a little."
