Colorado Rockies Fan's Big Mistake Costs Team Walk-Off HR
A Colorado Rockies fan robbed the team of a walk-off home run win after reaching for the ball and interfering with the play.
Tied at zero in the bottom of the ninth inning, Rockies catcher Jacob Stallings hit a deep shot to left-center field off Seattle Mariners' Ryne Stanek. A Rockies fan in the ball's trajectory reached out, missed the catch and poked the ball back into play with their glove.
The Rockies needed that…desperately.
WATCH:
The officials reviewed the play and deemed it an interference, with Seattle's Dylan Moore in proximity, reaching for the ball.
Falling just a couple of inches above Moore's glove, the ball could've landed in the seats without the obstructing fan. Stallings' at-bat ended in an out instead of the game-winning score, reasonably ticking off the 34-year-old as he tried to make a case for the fan's error.

Riding a six-game losing slide coming into Sunday's game against the Mariners, Coors Field would've boomed at the sight of a walk-off home run win.
The game went to extra innings, with both teams still sitting at a goose egg.
Rockies fans ultimately settled for a 2-1 win after 10 innings. The fan was lucky to leave Coors Field in one piece after nearly costing the home team the game. No one's safe at Coors; ask Rockies mascot Dinger, who was knocked over by a wild fan at a home game during the 2023 season, for no apparent reason.
The extra-innings matchup was the first of a Sunday doubleheader between the Rockies and Mariners.
Seattle answered with vengeance, beating the Rockies, 10-2, in Sunday's Game 2.
The Rockies faithful must be at a boiling point with this team's start to the 2024 season. The Rockies shamefully hold a 5-17 record, the worst in the NL.
