'College Football 25' Appears To Make Astronomical Amount Of Money
"College Football 25" appears to have printed cash for EA Sports after its early access release.
Gamers who purchased early release access for the game were able to start playing Monday afternoon. After an eleven year break, college football fans were finally able to return to the game we grew up loving.
I had it fired up as soon as access went live, and I definitely wasn't alone. Not only was I not alone, but it appears EA Sports cashed in with "College Football 25."
"College Football 25" appears to have made serious money for EA Sports.
The popular "College Football 25" personality Bordeaux shared a screenshot showing more than 713,000 were online and playing Monday night.
Early access for the game cost right around $100. That means using just the people who were online, EA Sports made more than $71,300,000 the first day of the game's release.
The number is also likely much higher because it doesn't include all the people not online. For example, I didn't play a single game online Monday. I immediately went to dynasty mode. I'm sure many did the same.
The real number could be north of $100 million on the first day. The game comes out for everyone else Friday, and I have no doubt plenty of more money will come rolling in.
If there was any doubt about whether the game was going to be worth it for EA Sports, I think it's safe to say that debate can be put to rest.
The game isn't just awesome to play, it appears to be a financial home run.
That means more games are absolutely on the way. Are you playing "College Football 25"? Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
