CJ Gardner-Johnson Apologizes To 'F**king Obnoxious' Eagles Fans After Re-Teaming With Philly

As a general rule of thumb, NFL players should refrain from dissing a former employer or fanbase to hedge the possibility of one day re-teaming with the organization.

Well, cornerback C.J. Gardner-Johnson is retracting past criticisms of Eagles fans after agreeing to rejoin Philly this week.

CJGJ spent last season in Detroit, coming off his Super Bowl loss with the Eagles in 2022.

Gardner-Johnson sparked discourse with Eagles fans after leaving Philadelphia for the Motor City.

In July 2023, Gardner-Johnson responded to online chat questions and threw jabs at the Eagles fanbase after playing there for one season.

The cornerback called Eagles fans "f*cking obnoxious" and said he couldn't "f*cking can't stand those f*ckers." The CB also took a shot at the city after getting his vehicle stolen in a parking garage before leaving for Detroit.

"I know exactly who stole my sh*t, don’t worry we got y’all on camera. That’s how y’all get down in Philly.. after a win?" Gardner-Johnson posted on his Instagram Live, searching for his missing KIA.

Gardner-Johnson had to reel back the fighting words after re-joining the Eagles. He posted an admission on X late Tuesday, saying he owes Eagles fans an apology for their past beef.

CJGJ is prepared to let bygones be bygones.

Gardner-Johnson posted, "I do owe the fans of Philly an apology, regardless this is an amazing place and we had some memories together! Let’s go get us one."

The responses under Gardner-Johnson's post welcomed the CB back with open arms.

"We’re toxic dawg, but it’s all love. You’re a legend in this city," one X user reacted.

The CB is your typical hot-headed cornerback … every team needs at least one of those.

Gardner-Johnson previously called out Eagles DC Jonathan Gannon in a now-deleted tweet.

Lucky for him, Gannon's now the HC in Arizona. CJGJ joins Vic Fangio's defense, looking for a resurgent season after a miserable 2023 under Sean Desai and Matt Patricia.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles agreed to sign C.J. Gardner-Johnson to a three-year deal, worth up to $33 million (enough to buy several KIAs).
