Chiefs DT Isaiah Buggs Arrested For The Second Time This Offseason

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs has been arrested … again.

In May, OutKick wrote about a weird situation in which Buggs (who played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide) was accused of two misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty. In a strange turn of events, he accused the Tuscaloosa Police Department of harassing him for owning a hookah shop in town.

But this time, Buggs has no unorthodox excuse to hide behind to soften the blow of his arrest.

Earlier today, he was arrested and charged with both domestic violence and burglary, again by the Tuscaloosa Police Department. He has a bond set at $5,000, but at publishing time, it was unclear if anyone had posted bail for him.

In his five-year career, the Ruston, LA, native has recorded two sacks, one fumble recovery, and 89 tackles in 56 games. After being cut by the Detroit Lions in January 2024, Buggs signed a futures contract with the Chiefs in February after the franchise won their second Super Bowl in a row (and fourth overall).

But after a tumultuous offseason that includes two separate run-ins with the law, it's fair to wonder if Kansas City will cut ties with the embattled veteran.

This is a developing story, and we will add more information as it is made available.
