Sky's Chennedy Carter Blatantly Shoulder Checks Caitlin Clark To The Ground: VIDEO
Saturday's WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky was billed as the much-anticipated rematch between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. But it seems there's another Chicago player who really has beef with Clark: Chennedy Carter.
With just seconds remaining in the third quarter, Carter drilled a jumper to cut Indiana's lead to 4 points. Then, as the Fever were setting up to in-bound the ball, Carter inexplicably screamed something toward Clark (I'm not a lip-reader, but it looked like the "b-word") then gave her a hard shoulder check. Clark hit the floor as the Fever's home crowd erupted — expecting a flagrant foul and possibly even an ejection for the Sky guard.
Instead, though, the ref just called it an off-ball common foul. Nothing to see here.
At the end of the quarter, Clark was visibly frustrated, telling the ESPN broadcast: "That’s just not a basketball play."
Reese, Clark's former collegiate rival, seemed pretty happy about it, though.
Sure, games get chippy sometimes. But this was just an unprovoked, egregious mauling of the No. 1 overall pick. Clark has already received a ton of animosity from some WNBA vets who seem jealous of the attention she's getting and the money she's raking in — like that $28 million Nike deal. And this is just another example.

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac chimed in after Carter dropped Clark to the ground on Saturday: "Imagine bringing millions of new fans to the game which in turn will make every player more money and yet they treat you like this," she wrote in a post on X. "A rising tide lifts all boats."
Clark got the last laugh, though. The Fever went on to defeat the Sky, 71-70, to secure their second win of the season.
