Pro Golfer Charley Hull Aggressively Rips Cigarette While Signing Autographs At U.S. Women's Open

Professional golfer Charley Hull has gone viral in the lead-up to this week's U.S. Women's Open. The viral moment has nothing to do with a shot he hit, a unique outfit choice from her sponsor Malbon, or anything she posted to her Instagram. No, this viral moment has everything to do with a good old-fashioned lung dart.

Hull was spotted smoking a cigarette while signing autographs at Lancaster Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. Smoking may not be the right word, if we're being honest, she was inhaling the thing without using either of her hands to even hold it.

A 28-year-old professional athlete craving a cigarette to the point they have to inhale one while signing autographs is a wild scene in the year 2024, but to each their own.

According to one user on X, formerly Twitter, Hull smoking cigarettes on the course is nothing new. They claimed she smoked seven during one of her rounds of the Mizuho Americas Open in New Jersey two weeks ago.

To the credit of the U.S. Women's Open, the tournament leaned into the viral moment and posted a photo of Nelly Korda and Megan Khang reacting to the video of Hull ripping her heater. Korda had the video of Hull pulled up on her phone in the photo.

Hull, currently the No. 8 player in the world, will be looking for her first major championship victory this week in Pennsylvania having already finished T-6 or better in each of the five majors in women's golf. The England native has two LPGA Tour wins under her belt with her most recent coming in October 2022 at the Volunteers of America Classic. She lost in a playoff during last year's Kroger Queen City Championship.
