Champions League Broadcasters Combine Height To Make Themselves Taller Than Joel Embiid

In case you haven’t noticed, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is really tall.

The native of Cameroon stands at an even 7’0" tall, towering over the rest of us pipsqueaks. By ourselves, most of us can’t even come close to matching his otherworldly height.

But if two people combine their height? Well, that’s a different story.

Embiid was in London with CBS Sports covering the UEFA Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. If you didn’t know this event was taking place, it’s okay. It's a soccer game (match?), I don’t blame you if it wasn’t on your sports viewing radar.

Anyway, two of the commentators - Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher - were awestruck by how tall Embiid is. Richards, who stands at a respectable 5’11, was especially blown away by how much shorter he stands than the 76ers superstar. Carragher barely fares any better, he’s 6’1".

But then the two commentators had a brilliant idea: what if one of them got on the other’s shoulders so they didn’t have to feel short anymore? And that’s exactly what they did.

Between the two of them, they were able to surpass Embiid in height. Someday, they’ll be able to tell their families about how they once were both taller than Joel Embiid.

If only briefly.
