Social Media Torches Caitlin Clark After Rough WNBA Debut

Caitlin Clark is getting cooked on social media after a rough WNBA debut.

Clark made her regular season WNBA debut Tuesday, and it wasn't a great night for her and her Indiana Fever teammates. The Fever fell 92-71 to the Connecticut Sun.

The former Iowa star turned first overall pick finished the game with 20 points on 5-15 shooting (4-11 from three), no rebounds, three assists, two steals and a staggering 10 turnovers.

Well social media had plenty to say about her less-than-stellar debut!

Social media reacts to Caitlin Clark struggling in WNBA debut.

Just as you'd expect, there were plenty of people who took to social media with their thoughts about Clark. Check out some below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

There's no denying Clark had a rough night to get her WNBA career started. Pouring in 20 points isn't too bad, and her three-point shooting was more than acceptable at 36.3%.

However, 10 turnovers is brutal. You simply can't win games when the star player is turning the ball over at that rate.

Having said all that, Clark is going to be just fine. There are certainly people rejoicing in her struggles. She's a rookie making the transition from pro to college. Clark is going to struggle at times. It doesn't mean she won't still be a great player. Get your mocking in now because there will definitely come a time where the opportunities for the haters won't exist.
