Caitlin Clark's WNBA Attendance Stats Are Outrageously Impressive, Numbers Crush Her Critics

Caitlin Clark is personally responsible for a significant boom in WNBA attendance.

The Indiana Fever have a very disappointing record of 4-10 through the team's first 14 games, but there's no doubt the team is by far receiving the most attention in the league. Why?

Caitlin Clark.

While some might want to make the claim a bunch of different young players are responsible for unprecedented attention - Angel Reese has certainly made that claim - the numbers tell a crystal clear story.

The Indiana Fever rookie is carrying the league more or less by herself in terms of generating ticket sales.

Caitlin Clark's WNBA attendance numbers are incredible.

Sportscasting published some fascinating data earlier in the week on what kind of draw Clark is for the WNBA, and the numbers are jaw-dropping.

Some of the major finds are below:

  • Road game attendance spikes 87% when Clark is visiting.
  • She accounts for 33.5% of all attendance this season as of the Tuesday publication.
  • WNBA games featuring Clark have 105% more fans in attendance (15,591 compared to 7,645)
  • The Fever draw 36% more fans on the road than any other team in the league with an average of 15,142 people attending.

Those weren't the only numbers that Sportscasting shared that will blow your mind. The Seattle Storm, Los Angeles Sparks and Washington Mystics all saw attendance increases of more than 100%.

In fact, the only team that hasn't seen a huge spike in attendance was the Las Vegas Aces with only a .33% increase. The next closest is the Connecticut Sun at an increase of 29.10%.

There have been 53 WNBA games this season as of publication that didn't feature Clark. Those games drew a total of 405,203 fans. The 13 games Clark has played in have drawn 203,991 fans. That's one of the most incredible stats I've ever seen.

If anyone looks at these numbers and makes the claim someone other than Clark is responsible for the league's boom, then I'd suggest ignoring them. The numbers don't back up that theory at all.

It's Clark from top to bottom, and the data is jarring. Angel Reese might think she's the reason people are watching, and I'm sure that's true for some people. However, the numbers are crystal clear that the former Iowa guard is what moves the needle.

Making up more than 33% of the league's attendance is nothing short of crazy.

Will her critics care about the numbers? Probably not, but the facts are what the facts are. Caitlin Clark is a star unlike anything the league has seen before. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
