After a wild, tumultuous week where she dominated the national sports conversation, Caitlin Clark returned to the court on Friday night.

As if we needed more examples of just how important she is to the WNBA at large, the home Washington Mystics had to arrange to move the game from their usual 4,200 capacity stadium to the 20,000+ capacity Capital One Arena. And still sold every available ticket.

Clark didn't disappoint, making seven three-pointers, to tie a WNBA rookie record. Several were impressive, including a very deep three in the first quarter.

And a very nice stepback three in the fourth to extend the lead to 72-66.

There were back-to-back three pointers in the third.

And then the seventh three gave the Fever a 75-68 lead that they wouldn't relinquish.

The Fever jumped out to an early 28-19 lead in the first quarter, then withstood a tough second quarter before riding out a 24-24 third quarter and 19-19 fourth quarter to hold on for an 85-83 win over the Mystics.

Clark was especially dominant, playing a team leading 39 minutes, scoring 30 points and adding eight rebounds and six assists.

Clark's Fever team improved to 3-9, with their next game coming on Monday on the road against the Connecticut Sun. A hotly anticipated rematch against the Chicago Sky and Angel Reese has to wait until June 16th though.
