Caitlin Clark Leads Indiana Fever To Win After All-Star Voting Update

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever were back in action on Friday night, taking on the Atlanta Fever. And as has become common for road games featuring Clark, the Fever was forced to move its game from its usual home at Gateway Center Arena to accommodate fan interest.

Instead of the 5,000 seat venue, organizers moved Friday's game to the nearly 17,000 capacity State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks. And sold every single ticket, yet again.

Those extra fans who showed up to see Clark certainly weren't disappointed. Though she got off to a slower start, Clark recovered to put up 16 points, seven assists and four rebounds. And several missed assists thanks to some questionable ball handling and shooting from her Fever teammates.

Still, she contributed her typically excellent three-point shooting, including an excellent step-back three in the third quarter.

The Fever closed out an 91-79 win, its fourth victory in a row before a rematch with Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Sunday.

Caitlin Clark Second In All-Star Voting, Generates Huge Interest For Angel Reese Rematch

Clark's performance on Friday cements an All-Star caliber start to the season, and WNBA fans agree.

The league announced earlier in the day that Clark ranks second in All-Star voting behind A'ja Wilson, who leads the WNBA in scoring at 27.9 points per game. At 217,773 to 216,427, the gap separating the two is just over 1,300 votes.

Wilson infamously said that much of the attention Clark receives is because she's white, though later seemingly changed her tune.

Voting for the WNBA All-Star Game ends on June 29th, and the game is just over a month away on July 20 in Phoenix. Unsurprisingly, given Clark's likely participation, the league's already sold out the 17,000+ seat Footprint Center.
