Caitlin Clark Fired Up About Being On The Hood Of A NASCAR Cup Series Car

While Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is in Phoenix for the WNBA All-Star Game, she'll still be back in Indianapolis in one very unique way.

It was announced earlier this week that the Stewart-Haas Racing's No. 4 Ford Mustang Dark Horse driven by Josh Berry will use a special paint scheme this weekend for the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway that features Clark on the hood.

It stems from a partnership with Panini trading cards, and it's a sharp-looking paint scheme.

Clark herself told WISH-TV what it was like to see her likeness on the hood of a Cup Series car, although, I think we'd all be stunned if her reaction was anything short of, "Holy crap, that's cool!"

It was, in fact, along those lines.

"I was like, ‘Oh my gosh! Is this real?" she said. "I want to drive the car. So, sometime maybe I have to take a spin, but it’s super cool... Hopefully it brings good vibes, and we get the W."

Sure, anyone would be jazzed about getting their mug on a race car (I know I would; just throwing that out there in case anyone can set that up), but is she a fan of NASCAR?

"Honestly, I grew up watching NASCAR," Clark explained. "My mom was kind of involved in it. So I was a really big fan growing up. It’s super cool."

That is super cool, but it gets even cooler.

The partnership won't end when the checkered flag flies. Instead, the team and Clark will auction off the hood to benefit the Matt Alexander Memorial Baseball Scholarship Fund.

It's awesome to see this kind of cross-pollination across completely different sports, and it's awesome for NASCAR to get a little bonus buzz as the Cup Series returns to the IMS oval for the first time in several years.
